khusboo is in news again, but this time she has sued a magazine called MAXIM. the magazine has published an obscene picture, that has been morphed with her face, that itself is a shameful thing to do and the atrocity did not stop there, they mentioned that it is hundred percent fake. what kind of joke is this? are cine stars not entitled to some respect? these kind of actions degrades the press industry. they jus do anything in the name of freedom. it is high time some kind of censorship is brought. i have seen cartoons depicting pictures of actors and actresses in humiliating ways in weekly magazines, but this is too much. In her interview regarding this issue in a news channel kushboo said that the people from that mag called her and said that they had done such a thing ,but it has been taken care of by mentioning that its a fake one. she rightly replied to them that if they consider that publishing such pictures and mentioning that its a fake takes care of everything, then why dont they do the same thing with the women members of their family. she is right and people with self respect should support her for this cause. can u guess how this matter can be used in a highly shameful manner to publicise the circulation of a paper, then go and get tamil murasu(24th), bearing the headlines that cries " kushboovin aabaasa padam"(kushboo's obscene photo) .

I support Kushbhoo in this regard and what she has asked was a perfect savukkadi to those magazines.They can never answer that question. Tamil Murasu sucks, they are trying to take control of the entire media in TamilNadu, theyve succeeded in TV, now aiming at press, once everything is done they ll manipulate the opinion of ppl using this media, this must not be encouraged.

Yeah.. that's shame full...

Even MAXIM wud have done that to publicise itself...

I am not sure if censorship to magzines and newspapers is a good idea...though they cross their boundaries at time...

most mags cross the limit, whether its indian or foreig, they invade the lives of celebs, sometimes going to great extents. and this picture must be the pits, the limits that mags go to sel that extra one copy

but whats surprising is the fact that why wud a magazine like maxim,which only recently forayed into the indian market and is also quite popular abroad,resort to such cheap tactics

Veda, the height is the headline that figured in "Tamizh Murasu". What is Karunanidhi doing now? I remember one interview by Kushboo for Sun TV many years back. She was asked about gossips on stars in media to which she said that one North Indian magazine had carried on an article as if she had given a personal interview to the magazine about Prabhu (I read that article too in Filmfare and it was very obvious that the contents were heights of someone's imagination). Since it was not true, she called up the editor (who happened to be a lady) and questioned her action. It seems she replied "We are media people, we can make or break you".

Such attitude from Press is very unfortunate.

Once a person enters public life he/she is prone to all this. Again, it is the people who need to be blamed. Anywhere around this world, Tabloid papers make a good sale. That is their job. In western world there exists these Paparazzis. They chase the celebrities even when they go on holidays and try to take pictures of them in the swimming suit and more private and personal situations, and make money out of it. It is also done there. That is it. Publicity should not be given to such things and we should ignore such acts.

@ balaji sir,
paparazzis are something different sir, they chase them and take photos,but in this regard,it is morphing of photos that too obscene, it may be of no concern in a foreign country, but we should not allow this here, it is highly condemnable.

hi veda,
think all these are coz of her earlier speech..itheye oru aan solli irunthaal they would have not taken seriously..but really feel for the cine stars..some times feel bad when I hear bad comments abt them..itz their profession..whats wrong in it? those who are in cine field are also human like us ..we often forgets they too have feelings..they came to the field to explore their talents... paparazzi too have family..never heard any news from their families..its not they have no probs but they are good in hiding their own issues and ponder on the popular one..its shame why they are spoiling others life?
women have so much probs like this….dont know when the society respect them?

nice one..

Veda, did you get a chance to watch "We the people" yesterday on NDTV 24x7? Kushboo was one of the participants and her anguish was so understandable.

This really is shamefull..and should have a censorship for magazines too.. I still remember , there was a news about Balachander and then the magazine said , it was a April fool joke...donno when they are going to realise the seriousness....

@ ammu,
u are right yaar, women face a lot in public life. every woman shuld fight back to support herself in this society.

@kris,
April fool jokes are published in mags every year(they especially target cine people), atleast they should now realise the consequences when the jokes are misunderstood and taken seriously.

@ravi,
yes , i watched the show. quite interesting one and a correct time to conduct such a show in chennai."is chennai a conservative city?", that was the topic, right? though there were many views on that, in the end everyone agreed that our city is mixed blend of modernity and conservative in its own and correct way and a great city and safe one(compared to other metros) to live in.

Khushboo did give a fitting reply. Sometimes people take the freedom for expression... beyond the limits
